Sticking to my health and lifestyle regime, my fitness age has just dropped another six months, from 48 to 47.5 years. This means – physically – I am actually some 20 percent fitter than my real age suggests. Age reversal? You bet.
Granted, 47.5 – measured by Garmin Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar performance algorithms – is my fitness age, not the real chronological age. But we know that fitness has a very strong impact on wellness and lifespan. So how old am I really?
I am turning 57 soon. But that’s obviously just an official, abstract number for documents and paperwork. Numbers can be misleading. Isn’t the fitness age more real? Isn’t an age number more real that’s based on how your body performs and how you feel?
How is this rejuvenation achieved? Yes, by regular exercise and lifestyle adjustments, but no less by weight control. For the first time in ages, my BMI dropped below 25 to 24.8. But not that I have to say no to things I love. I live the way I like to live. Not missing anything. Don’t have to say no to anything that’s worth enjoying.
